Twitch Reveals Plans to 'Activate' GTA 6 for Launch
Twitch’s Chief Monetization Officer, Mike Minton, has detailed how the platform is working with Take-Two and Rockstar to make GTA 6’s launch one of the biggest streaming events ever.
What Twitch says the plan looks like
- A phased rollout: focus on the single-player campaign first at launch, then expand coverage as Rockstar adds online/multiplayer features, and again if a PC version eventually arrives.
- New discoverability and monetization tools for streamers — think clips features and Twitch Drops tied to GTA 6 viewership.
- “Active discussions” about long-term plans, including how an official roleplay presence could work down the line.
⚠️ What to keep in mind
- This is Twitch describing its own plans and conversations — Rockstar/Take-Two haven’t put out a matching official statement with specifics.
- No confirmed dates, drop details, or RP server plans yet — this is direction, not a locked schedule.
This is separate from creator-led projects like Adin Ross’s planned RP server, which remain unofficial and unaffiliated with Rockstar. More on the Streamers page as plans firm up.
